Now that Season 2 of YOUNGER is one for the history books (read BWW's Matt Smith's recap of the Finale HERE), writer Darren Star and series star Sutton Foster sat down with Variety to tease what's ahead for next season.

[SPOILER ALERT - If you have not seen the Season Two finale, read on with caution!]

Last night's episode saw the romantic reunion of Liza and her younger beau Josh (Nick Tortorella), however not before her Empirical boss Charles (Peter Hermann) finally gave in to his own romantic feelings for Liza with a passionate kiss on the lips. How will this newly-formed love triangle play out in Season 3? "I think we have a lot of balls in the air - no pun intended - that really came to her in an honest way," says Star. "She has two men in her life that represent two really strong facets of who she is. They're [both] right for her and wrong for her at the same time."

Adds Foster, "I don't think Liza is done with Josh. I'm really curious. I don't think they're going to be skipping down the fields together because I think everything's changed. And I think Liza will be curious to play the Charles card now. That has been initiated, and I think that's definitely on the table. It'll be interesting to see how she manages that - he's still her boss so that's tricky too. Even though at that moment [when he kissed her] she wasn't technically working for him, how is that going to affect everything?"

As far as relationships betweens friends and co-workers next season, Star hints, "I just really want to continue deepening the bond between our characters. I feel like these are all women who have each other's backs - even Diana. This group of women have become friends based on this lie and otherwise, would never be all thrown together. The idea that they're learning from each other because they bring different life experiences and different stages of their lives to their relationships, digging deeper into all of that is really what we're looking forward to thinking about."

Foster has her own hopes for her character, commenting, "I would love for her to find love and happiness, especially after her marriage dissolved. What's so great about Josh is that she's able to re-live this part of her life that she missed out on. Personally right now, I want to see her explore and have fun and really focus on her career - it is a rom-com, but it really is about strong career-driven women in business. I'm not ready to see her settle down, at least for now. I'm very protective of her. I want to make sure she's okay!"

Fans of the show are still reeling from an episode featuring guest star Matthew Morrison, and the jury is still out over whether he really was grooming his sheep. Says Star, "There's still the question of did he or didn't he? It's not entirely clear. Whatever you decide to believe he was doing, he was doing. It's left to interpretation. And for those who were offended by it, I would say, he was absolutely grooming that sheep."
