Broadway star Susan Egan will make a rare New York concert appearance at Birdland on Monday, December 5 at 7pm. This evening is part of The Winter Season, presented by Jim Caruso in association with TheaterMania.com, which features theater performers and composers in the historic music room.
Ms. Egan, most recently on Broadway in Thoroughly Modern Millie, received Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations for her work in Beauty and the Beast. Her other theater credits include Cabaret, Triumph of Love, Putting It Together and Hello Again.
In her premiere Birdland outing, Susan will be joined by musical director Christopher McGovern, and will sing songs from past shows, tunes from her latest CD, "Coffee House," and showcase material by New York's hippest young writers. Critics have called Egan's voice "a knockout," "the perfect Broadway instrument," and have raved that her concerts are "a seamless weaving of the classic and the modern" and "an all night conversation with your best friend."
