When Brian d'Arcy James abdicated the throne of HAMILTON's King George III to star in Broadway's SOMETHING ROTTEN!, the search for a royal replacement ended when theatre favorite Jonathan Groff agreed to wear the crown. As the baffled monarch across the sea, he stops the show regularly with his comic rendition of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Brit-pop breakup spoof "You'll Be Back," and its two reprises.
Charitybuzz is now hosting an online auction, where the highest bidder receives two VIP tickets for a performance of HAMILTON and a backstage tour with Jonathan Groff after the show.
The winning bid will benefit Artists Striving To End Poverty (ASTEP), a non-profit organization conceived by Broadway Musical Director Mary-Mitchell Campbell and Juilliard students to transform the lives of youth using the most powerful tool they had-their art. Today, ASTEP connects performing and visual artists with underserved youth in the U.S. and around the world to awaken their imaginations, foster critical thinking, and help them break the cycle of poverty.
