No Child, Nilaja Sun's acclaimed solo show, will give its final New York performance on Sunday, June 3rd.  Tickets for the remainder of the run are now on sale, with many performances already sold out.

It was also announced that No Child, performed by Sun and directed by Hal Brooks, will play major engagements in cities across America, including Boston, Chicago and Washington, DC, with additional bookings on the West Coast scheduled throughout the 2007-2008 season.

"No Child began its remarkable life as part of Epic Theatre Center's previous season on Theatre Row.  The show, an instant hit, opened at the Barrow Street Theatre in July, 2006 where it has been playing to wildly enthusiastic crowds, including thousands of high school students and educators.  Ms. Sun will have played over 300 performances when the show concludes its Off Broadway run," state press notes on the show, which is produced by Scott Morfee, Tom Wirtshafter and Epic Theatre Center.

Before she brings the lauded solo show to cities across the country, Sun will travel to Tanzania under the auspices of The International Theatre and Literacy Project (ITLP).   There Sun will be doing exactly the work she has performed in the South Bronx and throughout NYC with Epic, which commissioned her to write No Child in 2004 (her experiences in these schools are the basis for No Child).

Sun also recently traveled to Aspen for special performances of No Child at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival, winning the coveted Jury Award.  In addition the play has been nominated for the 2007 Lucille Lortel Award as Best Solo Production.
