As a kind of "giving back" to Governors Island, which donated space to The Sundance Institute in June for our first-ever two week "Sundance Theatre Lab on Governors Island", Sundance Institute will be offering free to the public playwriting classes on the Island on Saturday, September 11, 2010.

Four Sundance Theatre Program alumni playwrights will gather on the Island and the public will sign up for a two hour ‘class' - Four sessions to choose from:
10 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM & 4 PM. Sign up in Nolan Park on the 12th. Space is first come, first served and is limited to 20 per session

The playwrights are: Janine Nabors (Sundance at Ucross 2010 and an Ars Nova writer), Darci Picoult ("Lil's 90th" at our Summer Lab which was subsequently produced at Long Wharf with Lois Smith and David Margulies), Winter Miller (as you know wrote the play "Darfur" with Nicholas Kristof), and Cori Thomas ("When January Feels like Summer", at our Summer Lab at then at Pittsburgh City Theater).
