Manhattan School of Music student, Micah Young, will perform his own musical revue, The World Upstairs. The revue, featuring songs inspired by the psychology of life, Stravinsky, and Richard Rogers, will be February 18th in the School's Greenfield Hall.
Young, a senior piano major at Manhattan School of Music, who apprenticed under Paul Gemignani during last summer's Professional Musical Theater Workshop, presents The World Upstairs as a self-composed and -produced Musical Revue. It will feature three Manhattan School of Music vocalists - Margaret Peterson, Jacob Smith and Lauren Jelenkovich - as well as Micah Young on piano.
"Having worked side by side with Paul Gemignani at last summer's Professional Musical Theater Workshop, Young developed key necessities, helping him to achieve great songwriting skills for musical theater. Utilizing his conservatory training at Manhattan School of Music, conducting great research, and using his inspirational choices of Stravinsky and Richard Rogers, he was able to create a revue of songs that basically reflect his views on life," according to press notes.
