Aimée DeShayes (Carnegie Mellon University), Fri Forjindam (Columbia
University), Oliver Henzler (Columbia University), Leah Lawrence
(Columbia University), Aole T. Miller (Tisch School of the Arts), Keith
Arthur Bolden (University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana), Marc Santa
Maria (St. Olaf College), Markus Potter (Columbia University), Brian
Belcinski (Central Connecticut State University), Claire Winters
(American Conservatory Theatre at Harvard), Riddick Marie (Columbia
University), Liz Ann Morton (University of Evansville), and Eve
Reinhardt (Carnegie-Mellon University) are the young actors and actresses who will represent the Foundation, which was created to support, mentor, and educate the next generation of Broadway stars.
The actors will be introduced at a June 7th champagne benefit performance of Cheryl West's
new play, Birdie Blue at Second Stage; it stars S. Epatha Merkeson and is directed by
Serett Scot.
"Named for two of Broadway's and Off-Broadway's most beloved
actresses," states the press release, "Tony and Obie-Award winner Lynne Thigpen and Bobo Lewis set
a standard of performance level and personal integrity that the
foundation intends to emulate and promote. Most young actors beginning
their life in the theatre have few organized resources where they can
learn and be nurtured at the same time. The Lynne Thigpen/Bobo Lewis
foundation will serve as a safety net for actors; a community in which
they can serve and be served by their peers and established
professionals in the theatre"
Tickets to the LTBLF benefit performance are available to the general public, and can be purchased by calling the Second Stage box office at 212-246-4422 or 1-800-766-6048.
