Stripped Scripts to Host Special Event Featuring TOMORROW IN THE BATTLE at Drama Book Shop

Stripped Scripts (with Executive Producer Greg Schaffert) will host a special event at The Drama Book Shop (250 West 40th Street between 7th and 8th Avenue) on Thursday, October 26 beginning at 4pm. The event will feature a discussion and signing with playwright Kieron Barry, director Tana Sirois, and actors PatRick Hamilton, Ruth Mahala Sullivan, and Allison Threadgold to celebrate the NYC Premiere of Kieron Barry's Tomorrow in the Battle at Theater 511 (511 West 54th Street between 10th and 11th Avenue), October 11-28. Garrett Anderson from Samuel French will moderate the event. Admission is free and open to the public.


The NYC Premiere of Kieron Barry's Tomorrow in the Battle, directed by Tana Sirois (The Last Eden with Dirt [contained] Theatre Company) will play at Theater 511 (511 West 54th Street between 10th and 11th Avenue), October 11-28 with performances Monday through Thursday at 7pm, Friday at 7pm & 10pm, and Saturday at 3pm & 7pm. Tickets ($25-$59) are available online at www.strippedscripts.com or by calling 212-352-3101.The New York premiere is being presented at Theater 511 as part of the Ars Nova Fling program. The performance will run approximately 90 minutes, with no intermission.


What are the consequences when the lies we tell ourselves become the reality of the lives we lead? A tale of obsession and betrayal, Tomorrow in the Battle paints a searing portrait of loyalty and lust, honor and honesty, duty and desire as a group of London's elite navigate their own professional and moral crises.


Tomorrow in the Battle originally premiered at Stageworks/Hudson in 2012 and Samuel French published the play earlier this year.


The cast will feature PatRick Hamilton (Pimm's Mission with Oberon Theatre Ensemble at 59E59), Ruth Mahala Sullivan (The Popular Truth Game Show at The Brick), and Allison Threadgold (Antigone with Fusion Theater at Theatre Row) with Original Music by Jonathan Sanford (Don't Mess With Julie Whitfield at Tribeca Film Festival), Set Design by Chika Shimizu (The Seagull at Access Theater with director Lillian Meredith), Lighting Design by David Shocket (Associate on Tick, Tick, Boom! with Keen Company), and Costume Design by Beth Morgan (GLOW on Netflix).


STRIPPED SCRIPTS creates a unique environment for collaboration between actors and writers telling stories in front of an intimate audience. Stripped Scripts' Productions strives to identify and cultivate exceptional work hoping to explore unexpected approaches to both new and previously produced works, as well as new spaces for presenting theater. Stripped Scripts Readings hosts unrehearsed readings stripped away of elaborate sets, stage directions, and costuming, in order to focus on the actor's choices and the words of the text allowing for in the moment, organic development of the liaison between writer and actors.
