Alan Cohen (The League Director of Communications) and Bruce Cohen (Local One Spokesperson) announce:

"Talks have been scheduled between Local One and The League of American Theaters and Producers beginning this weekend, at an undisclosed place and time. No interviews or comment from either organization will be issued until further notice."

The meeting will be the first since negotiations broke-down last weekend, prompting Local One to strike, closing over two-dozen Broadway theatres.

In a previous announcement NY1 explains: "Producers want the minimum number of stagehands per production to be flexible because they say they're often forced to hire more stagehands than needed The union says it is concerned over job security and that producers will try to spread workers too thin."

UPDATE: The New York Post reports Disney's top labor negotiator, Robert Johnson, will mediate the weekend proceedings.

Stay tuned for continued strike coverage.
