World famous a cappella group Straight No Chaser will play the Fred Kavli Theatre, Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 8:00 pm.

If the phrase "male a cappella group" conjures up an image of students in blue blazers, ties, and khakis singing traditional college songs on ivied campuses, think again. Straight No Chaser (SNC) is neither straight-laced nor straight-faced, but neither are they vaudeville-style kitsch. As original member Randy Stine comments "We take the music very seriously; we just don't take ourselves too seriously." In the process, they are reinventing the idea of a cappella.

Originally formed over a dozen years ago while students together at Indiana University, the group has reassembled and reemerged as a phenomenon - with a massive fan-base, over 20 million views on YouTube and numerous national TV appearances. As well as producing an extraordinary sound with their harmonies, they incorporate humor and dance into their performances with an energetic vibe.

Straight No Chaser in currently traveling the US with their "Speakeasy Tour". The tour comes on the heels of the release of Six Pack: Volume 3, their album of one- of-a- kind renditions of contemporary pop hits and rock classics.

Widely beloved for their trademark takes on Yuletide favorites, Straight No Chaser made their now classic debut with 2008's Holiday Spirits. followed in the next year by Christmas Cheers. Both albums reached the top of the holiday charts at Amazon and the iTunes Store and are now certified gold by the RIAA.

In an era when so much pop music is the product of digital processing and electronic manipulation, Straight No Chaser is the real deal, the captivating sound of ten unadulterated human voices coming together to make extraordinary music.
