Steve Wilson, whose Broadway credits include Lestat, The Frogs and By Jeeves, will portray the role of Vittorio Vidal when he joins the national tour of Sweet Charity in Salt Lake City on Nov 17.
NETworks Presentations launched the national tour of the musical comedy hit, Sweet Charity, starring film and television star Molly Ringwald and directed by Scott Faris (South Pacific starring Robert Goulet) and choreographed by Tony Award winner, Wayne Cilento.
Sweet Charity received three Tony Award nominations – Best Musical Revival, Best Choreography and Best Actress. The 2005 Broadway Revival was directed by Walter Bobbie (Chicago).
With a book by Neil Simon based on an original screenplay by Federico Fellini, Tullio Pinelli and Ennio Plaiano, the show "is a funny, poignant and tender look at the misadventures of Charity Hope Valentine, a dance hall hostess who always gives her heart and earnings to the wrong man," according to press materials.
Wilson most recently starred as Jack Absolute in The Rivals at the Shakespeare Theatre of NJ, where he has been a company member for 10 years. Other regional theatre credits include Jefferson in Geva Theatre's production of 1776, Dexter in The Philadelphia Story at The Walnut Street Theatre and Oscar in Sweet Charity at North Shore Music Theatre (starring his wife, Roxane Barlow, as Charity).
