Stephen Wallem (Nurse Jackie) and Maddie Corman (Next Fall, upcoming Accidentally Brave) will be starring in a staged reading of Re-Wire on January 24, 2019, at 3 pm and 7 pm at The Davenport Theatre located at 354 West 45th Street in the theater district. The production is directed by Karen Carpenter (Love, Loss & What I Wore.) Limited tickets are available at bit.ly/re-wire_jan24.

The comedic-drama, written by husband and wife playwrights, Thomas and Judy Heath (TheaterMania award winners for Perfectly Normel People (sic), NY Fringe) peeks into the world of a psychotherapist and five of her patients each dealing with a different issue around sexuality today. It was inspired by Ms. Heath's real-life experiences as a therapist.

"We're tackling such issues as pornography addiction, gay monogamy, bi-curiousity and the effects of social media on self-esteem, to name a few", shared Judy. "The internet has been a game changer over the past ten years when it comes to sexuality in the people I treat in my private practice", she added.

"As we navigate more and more challenging waters in our intimate relationships, and seek to understand those who are different from us, Re-Wire meets these issues head-on with humor and pathos. It's part of what attracted me to want to direct this play", said Ms. Carpenter who helped bring Nora Ephron's last play to life.

The play had its workshop production at the New York International Fringe Festival under the title Bedroom Secrets and garnered Mr. Wallem an award for Overall Excellence in Acting and received 4 Stars from TimeOut New York, as well as a Top 5 pick from the New York Post. After the reading, Re-Wire will be positioned for an Off-Broadway run.
