Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) have hired Stephen M. Kaus as Associate Artistic Producer for Manhattan Theatre Club.
Kaus arrives at MTC having spent the last five seasons as the Producer at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. In 2014, he led the festival though its leadership transition and represented WTF on the Broadway transfers of that season's The Visit, Living on Love, and the current MTC production of Fool for Love. Previous WTF to Broadway transfers shepherded by Kaus include The Elephant Man and The Bridges of Madison County. Coincidentally, Kaus began his professional career as a stage manager at WTF, returning for six seasons before becoming the festival's producer. As a production stage manager, he managed numerous shows at institutions that include the Public Theater, Roundabout Theatre Company, Lincoln Center Theater, Manhattan Theatre Club, McCarter Theatre, Huntington Theatre, Old Globe, Atlantic Theater Company and on Broadway including The Merchant of Venice and Glengarry Glenn Ross with Al Pacino. Kaus graduated with a BFA from Boston University, where he also taught Stage Management.
"I am very happy to welcome Steve Kaus to Manhattan Theatre Club's artistic team," said Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director. "I am looking forward to working with him. Steve brings with him a wealth of production experience and I know that he will be a valuable member of our artistic staff."
Kaus said, "I could not be more excited about joining the team at MTC and becoming a part of such a longstanding tradition of excellence in the American theatre. I look forward to working with Lynne and Barry, the top-notch staff, and the dedicated Board of Directors to create excellent work and nurture incredible talent. I know that it will be loads of fun."
Kaus, who will work with Meadow on the eight productions of MTC's season, joins an artistic staff that includes Director of Artistic Operations Amy Loe, Director of Artistic Development Elizabeth Rothman, Line Producer Nicki Hunter, and Literary Manager Scott Kaplan.
