Stella McCartney has been named in Queen Elizabeth's New Year Honours List for 2013 reported WWD. McCartney was recently given the British Fashion Award for Fashion Designer of the Year, and now has been made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to fashion.
The list is published in recognition of the service and achievements of extraordinary people in the United Kingdom. This year it included a Special Honours List to recognize the Olympians, Paralympians and the most successful coaches, following Team GB's success at the Olympic Summer Games.
Also making the list was Caryn Franklin, fashion communicator and founder of All Walks Beyond the Catwalk. Ms. Franklin was named a Master of the British Empire for her services to diversity in the fashion industry. Harriet Vine and Rosie Wolfenden, the cofounders of handmade jewelry brand Tatty Devine, were also named MBEs.
