Stella Adler Studio of Acting's production of Israel Horovitz' wildly imaginative play, Lebensraum opens October 29. The play envisions a contemporary German chancellor who implements a Holocaust reparations plan that sets off visceral responses with global affects.
Directed by Don K. Williams, Lebensraum stars Aidan Koehler, Adam Gerber and Mickey Ryan, three actors from the Harold Clurman Laboratory Theater Company who together play more than fifty different characters throughout the performance.
Lebensraum is Stella Adler Studio of Acting's first Off-Broadway production in its sixty-two year history."What I saw on stage was beyond thrilling," said Israel Horovitz, American playwright and screenwriter, when he saw the Harold Clurman Laboratory Theater Company's performance. "I have seen dozens upon dozens of productions of Lebensraum in dozens of languages around the globe. It is among the very best I have ever seen.""Lebensraum unites my two loves," said Tom Oppenheim, President and Artistic Director of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. "It is a great work of art that challenges us to examine the way we live our own lives; through it we are confronted with difficult moral questions; Lebensraum has the potential to change us."Lebensraum
