Manhattan Theatre Club has announced casting for the American premiere of David Greig's The American Pilot, which will be directed by Lynne Meadow.

The production begins previews at New York City Center – Stage II (131 West 55th Street) on Thursday, November 2 and opens on Tuesday, November 21.

The cast will feature (in alphabetical order): Geoffrey Arend ("Law & Order," the film Garden State) as The Translator, Anjali Bhimani (Metamorphoses) as Evie, Brian Bielawski (As You Like It and Macbeth at the Old Globe) as Soldier #1, Yusef Bulos (Fiddler on the Roof) as The Trader, Josh Casaubon ("One Life to Live") as Soldier #2, Ron Domingo ("Law & Order," The General Returns from One Place to Another) as The Farmer, Aaron Staton (Mamma Mia!, films such as The Nanny Diaries) as The American Pilot, Rita Wolf (the film My Beautiful Laundrette) as Sarah, and Waleed F. Zuaiter (Sixteen Wounded) as The Captain.

"In a rural village in a war-torn country, an American pilot crash-lands.  Should the villagers in the region help him, murder him or use him as a pawn in a dangerous game with the enemy? This powerful, topical and very human new play just earned raves at London's Royal Shakespeare Company. This new production will mark its eagerly anticipated American premiere," state MTC notes.

The design team will feature: Derek McLane (Set Design), Ilona Somogyi (Costume Design), Christopher Akerlind (Lighting Design), Obadiah Eaves (Sound Design).
