Celebrate the future of NYC parks at Freshkills Park's 4th annual Sneak Peak. The former landfill on Staten Island's western shore is being transformed into a park 3 times the size of Central Park, but is not yet open to the public. Don't miss this special opportunity to get a first look. It all takes place today, September 29, 2013, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Freshkills Park - Entrance at Wild and Beresford Avenues.
This year's event offers nearly three miles of walking paths and more than two miles for those who bring bikes to explore the park's peaks. Check out kayak tours, numerous public artworks and performances, food trucks, bike share, climbing wall and pony rides for the kids. Parking at the site is free. There will be continuous shuttle bus service to and from the St. George Ferry Terminal.
The event is FREE and open to the public. For more information, visit www.nyc.gov/sneakpeak.
