Everybody loves to bowl and that is why the Staten Island Zoo has organized a Bowl-a-Thon to give our neighbors an opportunity to have a little fun, spend some time with family and friends, and raise much needed funds for Staten Island's jewel of a ZOO!

The Bowl-a-Thon will take place on Sunday, March 14th from 1 to 4 p.m. at Rab's Country Lanes. The fee is a minimum of 40 dollars per person to bowl. You can pay that yourself or you can collect some "spare" change or bills from your friends and family and have them sponsor you at the event. For the price of the admission, you will get 3 games of bowling, 2 slices of pizza, 1 soda, the opportunity to take chances in a 50/50 raffle and other raffles, plus music and more.

"Join us at this family event and help us raise funds so that the Zoo can continue to Conserve, Educate, and Inspire this generation and the many generations to come. This is a great way to be part of that and a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon," said John Caltabiano, Executive Director of the Staten Island Zoo.

All ages are welcome to bowl; bumpers available for children under 12 (Chuck already asked if he could have a bumper. That depends of course how good of a job he does on Groundhog Day predicting the weather and being gentle and cordial to our esteemed guests at the Annual Groundhog Celebration at 7:30 a.m. at the Zoo on Feb. 2nd. Psssttt....Don't forget to join us!)
