RECURRING PROGRAMS:

BREAKFAST WITH THE BEASTS - 8:30-10:00am
One of Staten Island Zoo's most loved programs. Join us for a tour of our animal kitchen, help prepare some food for critters and watch them eat. Meet some animals close up and have a breakfast snack while you are here.
Sat., Dec 18 - Holiday Breakfast with Santa
Members: $10 / Non-members: $13
Children ages 5 and up - please no younger siblings. A paying adult must accompany a paying child.

DINOSAURS AND MORE
featuring RICHIE MIRISSIS - 1:30-3:30pm*
Join dinosaur enthusiast, Richie Mirissis, as he presents some amazing fossils, three- dimensional models, and memorabilia from his vast collection. Make a clay fossil mold with the help of our knowledgeable volunteers.

Vampires throughout the Ages: Blood Drive - Sat., Oct. 16 (11:00-2:00)
As you donate blood to help mankind; you can learn about some animals that rely on blood as a food source, aka Vampire Bats. In spirit of the recent vampire cultural phenomena we will also feature vampires throughout the ages from the original Dracula to the more recent Twilight Saga.
The blood that is donated will be matched (represented by fake blood) in our Sweeney Todd play during Spooktacular.

Pumpkin Patch Roundup (11:00-2:00)
What is fall without pumpkins? Come celebrate the changing of the colors with your favorite Zoo animals. Stop by the Zoo's pumpkin patch and chose your very own pumpkin to paint or carve.

A little bit about Spooktacular -

It's all hands on deck at the Staten Island Zoo as they once again make their preparations to present you with the spookiest Halloween celebration in town! One of the most popular events at the Staten Island Zoo, Spooktacular, is filled with Halloween fun for your whole family.

Be prepared to be spooked by some very creative and unique Halloween exhibits. This event, however, has something for everyone - the brave and the faint of heart. The Zoo is transformed into a Halloween wonderland.

New exhibits and fun this year include the HOUSES OF HARRY POTTER, ALIEN ZOO in the African Wing, Alice in Wonderland, and live shows.

Visitors can stroll through a life size Candyland game, enter our Costume contest, visit Buck the "talking deer," as well as experience many other areas of areas of entertainment, including games, crafts, and rides, and event participate in a game of FAMILY FEUD.

November:

Enrichment Workshop: Kookaburra sits in the Old Gum Tree (1:30-3:30pm)
What is that you hear? Is it a baby crying or is someone laughing? No it is the kookaburra! Come watch them get a special treat and maybe even hear them laugh while learning what the different calls mean. Free with regular zoo admission.

THANKSGIVING WITH THE BEASTS - Sun., Nov. 21 (10:00-4:00pm) - Craft (1:30-3:30pm)
Do you want to see some of the rowdiest dinner guests you could ever imagine? Join us for a day-long series of special feedings at the Zoo in honor of Thanksgiving. Make a Thanksgiving craft to take home (1:30-3:00pm).
Free with regular zoo admission

December:

Sat., Dec. 18 - "HOLIDAY" BREAKFAST WITH THE BEAST - 8:30-10:00am
Our most popular Breakfast with the Beast will return. (Shhh!! Because our animals have been so good this year Santa will visit.) We will look at a number of outdoor Zoo critters and see how they deal with winter!
Ages 5 and up

Zoofari Camp - Tues. 28 through Thurs. 30 10:00-2:00
Winter Zoofari Mini Camp for ages Pre-K, K-1, and 2-3
The zoo will heat up winter with a summer camp session during the holiday break in December. Children will tour the Zoo; meet animals, play games and much more!
Please remember we also have camp sessions on all school breaks!
Members- $35 and Non-members- $45 per day
