The Staten Island Historical Society has elected a new slate of officers and one new member to its Board of Trustees. The elections took place on Friday evening, June 25th, at the Society's year-end meeting at Historic Richmond Town.
Re-elected officers of the Board of Directors are: President: Mr. John Gustafsson, Attorney; Vice President: Mrs. Aurelia Curtis, Principal of Curtis High School; Treasurer: Mr. Bob Coghlan, Managing Director and Head of Corporate Governance of BNP Paribas, North America; Assistant Treasurer: Mr. Paul Ainslie, Investment Advisor & Regional Director of Christian Brothers Investment Services; and Secretary: Ms. Claire Regan, Associate Managing Editor of the Staten Island Advance. Newly elected to the Executive Committee as Vice President of the Society is Frank Crane, Academic Dean of Staten Island Academy.
Mrs. Pamela Silvestri, Food Editor of the Staten Island Advance, was re-elected to serve on the board. Mr. Kevin Fisher, Senior Managing Director and Head of New Business Development of Fi-Tek, LLC, was elected to the board, bringing the total number of current board members to 21.
Other board members include: Dr. Meryl Efron, Dentist, a board member since 2005; Caryn Hemsworth, Vice President and Corporate Counsel of Prudential Insurance Company, a board member since 2008; Laura Patrick, Community Volunteer and board member since 1991 (re-elected 2005);
Margaret Robinson, Community Volunteer and board member since 1953 (re-elected 2005);
James Coyle, former President of the Board and retired President of SI Bank & Trust, a board member since 1977 (re-elected 2006); Angela Curty, retired Nurse Educator at St. Vincent's Hospital and board member since 1997 (re-elected 2006); Margaret Galligan, Community Volunteer and board member since 1989 (re-elected 2006); Eileen Hopkins, Deputy Executive Director of Eden II Institute who joined the board in November 2009; Domenick Lobifaro, CPA and Principal of LLI Advisory Group who joined the board in January 2010; Shawn O'Hara, Managing Director of US Bank who joined the board in March 2010; James Shea, Attorney who joined the board in 2009; Hans Wiesner, Landscape Architect with Wiesner Brothers Nursery, a board member since 2009; and Dr. Thomas Vazzana, Cardiologist and board member since September 2009.
