The Staten Island Children's Museum will be holding a fire safety workshop on October 2 & 3.

What number do you call for a fire emergency? Do you have smoke detectors in your house and are the batteries working? Do you have fire drills at school & at home? How long does it take the firefighters to arrive after you call 911? These are just a few of the questions children are asked when visitors learn about fire safety at the Staten Island Children's Museum in Ladder 11. Workshops will take place Sat. & Sun. at 1, 2 & 3 p.m.

Other upcoming events at the Children's Museum include:

October 1 will feature Health Plus - Kidz Cook, healthy pumpkin muffins at 2, 3 & 4 p.m.

On Weekdays, the museum holds Walk-In! Workshop programs.  Programs on Wednesday & Thursday are free with Museum admission. Wednesday is Clay Day and Thursday is Paint Day.

While at the Museum, families can visit hands-on, fabulous interactive exhibits: Block Harbor, The Big Game, Bugs and Other Insects, Great Explorations, Portia's Playhouse, Sea of Boats, Ladder 11, D.B.'s Fantastic Machines & House About It.
