On Sunday, May 20, the Staten Island Yankees are partnering with the Staten Island Advance to host the second Annual Touch- A-Truck fundraising event at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark. All funds generated will go to the Staten Island Children's Campaign, a Charitable Trust sponsored by the Advance to raise funds for programs serving 60,000 borough children through 15 non-profit groups.
During Touch-A-Truck, which runs from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. children will be allowed to touch, view, and climb on more than 20 trucks of all shapes and sizes. In addition, there will be inflatable's like a bounce house, games to play, arts and crafts to try, lots of family entertainment and plenty of refreshments available in the ballpark.
Tickets are $6 in advance and $7 at the door. Visit www.siyanks.com/trucks and order today. Parking is available in nearby lots, plus the ballpark is conveniently located adjacent to many mass transit options at the St. George Ferry Terminal.
Every dollar raised by the campaign is equally distributed among the following groups: Catholic Youth Organization; Camelot Counseling Center; Children's Aid Society-Goodhue Center; Community Resources; Geller House-Jewish Board of Family & Children Services; Grace Foundation; Have a Heart Foundation; Jewish Community Center; the Mission of the Immaculate Virgin at Mt. Loretto; Seamen's Society for Children and Families; Staten Island Children's Museum; Staten Island Mental Health Society; the YMCA; United Activities Unlimited, and the Universal Temple of the Arts.
