Stars of Upcoming German ALADDIN Production Sing 'A Whole New World'

Disney's latest Broadway show, ALADDIN, is set to open in Hamburg in December, and the new cast is already preparing to sing the now classic Alan Menken score. The stars of ALADDIN DAS MUSICAL, Myrthes Monteiro and Richard-Salvador Wolff recently performed the show's magical love duet, "A Whole New World" at a promotional concert. Das Casting für Disneys ALADDIN dauerte über sechs Monate und führte das Kreativteam wörtlich einmal um die ganze Welt. Neben einem erstklassigen Tanzensemble kamen für diese außergewöhnliche Produktion nur die besten Musical-Darsteller in Frage. „Gemeinsam mit Stage Entertainment haben wir lange gesucht, um am Ende die bestmöglichen und talentiertesten Darsteller für unsere Europapremiere von ALADDIN zu finden", sagt Thomas Schumacher, Producer and President Disney Theatrical Productions. „Nachdem wir seit über 15 Jahren schon Darsteller für die deutschen Produktionen von Der König der Löwen und Tarzan casten, kann man sehen, dass es in Deutschland und Europa in der Zwischenzeit unglaublich viele talentierte Musical-Darsteller gibt, aus denen wir eine fantastische Cast zusammenstellen konnten." Im Musical haben die Darsteller von den drei wichtigen Disziplinen Gesang, Tanz und Schauspiel oft eine Stärke. Doch das reichte uns bei ALADDIN nicht, denn jeder in diesem Ensemble muss nicht nur ein guter Schauspieler und außergewöhnlicher Sänger sein, sondern auch tanzen und steppen können - und akrobatische Fähigkeiten haben."

Disney's Aladdin, the Tony Award-winning new musical comedy based on the Academy Award®-winning animated film, is now in its second smash year on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre (214 West 42nd Street).

Aladdin opened to critical acclaim on March 20th, 2014 and quickly established itself as the biggest blockbuster in recent years, already welcoming over one million people and breaking six New Amsterdam Theatre house records. NBC-TV raves "Aladdin is exactly what you wished for!" New York Magazine calls it "Musical comedy wish-fulfillment!" while The New York Times hails the show as "Fabulous... Extravagant! Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, the show features music by Tony Award and eight-time Oscar® winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, Sister Act), lyrics by two-time Oscar winner Howard Ashman (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid), three-time Tony Award and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice (Evita, Aida) and four-time Tony Award nominee Chad Beguelin(The Wedding Singer), with a book by Beguelin, and is directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon).
