Stars of AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, BEAUTIFUL, FIDDLER, WAITRESS and More to Perform at 92Y Street Fest

92nd Street Y brings its famous programs out on to Lexington Avenue for New Yorkers of all ages to enjoy at the Annual 92Y Street Fest.]

The FREE outdoor event takes place Sunday, September 18, from 12-5 pm on Lexington Avenue between 79th and 94th Streets.

The festival features the following:

FOR ADULTS

- Entertainment on the Main Stage (highlights): Performances by the casts of the Broadway shows An American in Paris, Beautiful, Chicago, Fiddler on the Roof, Matilda and Waitress; dance performances, including the Yin Yue Dance Company, the Wianek Polish Folk Dance Company, Erica Saucedo and Community Dance Project NYC. It also includes musical performances by Ed MacEachen (jazz), the Jamie Reynolds and Melissa Stylianou Band (jazz), and Sarah Tolar and her band (jazz, pop and rock). 1010 WINS reporter Sonia Rincon is the Master of Ceremonies.

- Wellness Way: A city block (between 86th and 87th Streets) offering community health services from Street Fest sponsor Weill Cornell Medicine. Offerings include free health screenings (audiology, balance assessments, lung capacity, skin cancer, blood pressure and body mass index) and answers to your health questions from Weill Cornell medical professionals. Wellness Way also includes: Technogym fitness and wellness profiling (Technogym's equipment was featured in the Olympic Village at the Rio Games); and 92Y fitness trainers, who will conduct free body composition screenings.

- Tours of 92nd Street Y May Center for Health, Fitness & Sport: The May Center features cardio and weight training rooms and basketball courts, a pool and a track -- as well as 100 fitness classes per week for members. Festival-goers can take advantage of a one-day-only, special membership offer: $0 to enroll and just $69 a month.

- Knitting Circle: The public can join members of the Himan Brown Senior program in knitting items that will be distributed to patients in need at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and other local hospitals. (92Y's Knitters have provided over 3800 hats and scarves to local area hospitals since 2012)

- On Lexington between and 90th and 91st Streets is International Way, a world tour of booths representing China, Germany, Israel, Poland, Latvia, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey and Ukraine. Festival-goers can discover handicrafts from across the globe and sample delicacies such as pierogis and borscht from the renowned Veselka (Ukrainian) restaurant, among others. Le Pain Quotidien (Belgium) and the Mayor's Office for International Affairs also join International Way this year.

- Festival-goers can also take advantage of 10% discounts to upcoming 92Y events - including talks with Phil Collins and Maureen Dowd and readings by Billy Collins and Ian McEwan (among many other events), as well as discounts to classes in art, music, jewelry (among many other subjects), summer camp and much more.

FOR KIDS

Kids can choose from a host of FREE activities throughout the day:

- Performances on the KidCentral Stage : "Tiffany's Cabaret for a Cause" performers - featuring young stars from Broadway shows; performers from 92Y's School of Music; and dance by 92Y's Junior Performance team.

- Activities for Kids of All Ages: Arts and crafts for all ages, including drop-in-drawing and finger puppets; demos by the 92Y Gymstars gymnastics team; a bubble artist and face painter (courtesy of Weill Cornell Medicine); and a Tiny Tumblers Toddler Obstacle Course. Other activities include low beam balancing, Huddle Up NYC (touch football), Dribbl (basketball), and soccer skills & thrills (with a chance to win prizes).

- Snacklace Station: Presented by 92Y's Parenting Center, this special area features snacklaces for kids - necklaces made of licorice, pretzels and fruit loops.
