Stagedoor Manor, the country's premiere summertime training ground for young performers, is celebrating its 40th Anniversary in 2015. To mark the milestone, Stagedoor Manor is launching a virtual "World Wide Reunion" throughout the entire year to bring together thousands of alumni and friends, and benefit the Actors Fund.
To participate, alumni and friends of Stagedoor can visit www.StagedoorManor40.com to make a donation in support of The Actors Fund. All who make a donation will receive a special edition Stagedoor Manor 40th Anniversary logo flag. Donors are encouraged to take a photo of themselves in a creative space, displaying the flag, and then upload it to the website with a caption, name, and location. All photos shared will be accessible by any who visit. As the numbers grow, there will be thousands of people connecting throughout the year.
"There isn't a party venue in the world that could fit the giant, international network of friends and alumni we've amassed over the past forty years," Stagedoor Manor's owner, Cindy Samuelson said. "This initiative is our way of giving everyone the chance to celebrate our anniversary, while giving back to the community that we know, love, and work in by supporting The Actors Fund."
For the past forty years, children and teens (ages 10-18) from all over the world have been traveling to Stagedoor Manor to perfect their skills in acting, singing, and dance. Boasting many famous alumni, Stagedoor Manor is widely recognized as the country's premiere training ground for young performers. As a result of its reputation, agents and casting directors seeking the next generation of talent make regular visits each year. Stagedoor frequently partners with prominent entertainment companies, such as Disney and Music Theatre International, to create new properties. Stagedoor workshops were responsible for the creation of School Editions of Rent, Sweeney Todd, Aida, Miss Saigon, and Avenue Q. There is no audition required to attend Stagedoor Manor; the program is committed to all levels of talent and experience. The campus has 8 theaters and produces 42 full-scale shows each season. Stagedoor Manor is owned and produced by the Samuelson/Samen family.
