Deadline writes that THE NEWSROOM's Chris Chalk will play 'Lucius Fox' in GOTHAM. His first appearance will be in Episode 21 of the FOX drama series, with an option to return for Season 2.
Lucius Fox, played by Morgan Freeman in the DARK KNIGHT movies, is described as "Wayne Enterprises' resident tech genius. In a corporation shadowed by nefarious dealings, FOX emerges as a moral beacon for young Bruce Wayne. His desire to help Bruce uphold Thomas Wayne's legacy eventually will earn him a spot as one of the boy's most important confidants."
Chalk kicked off his career as a stage actor, appearing on Broadway in FENCES and off-Broadway in WHEN I COME TO DIE, RUINED, UNCONDITIONAL, THE OVERWHELMING and DEFIANCE.
He last graced the small screen in THE NEWSROOM, SONS OF ANARCHY and HOMELAND, and recently appeared in the film 12 YEARS A SLAVE.
About GOTHAM:
GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer/writer Bruno Heller ("The Mentalist," "Rome"), GOTHAM follows one cop's rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering between good and evil, and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time. The series stars Ben McKenzie ("Southland," "The O.C."), Donal Logue ("Vikings," "Sons of Anarchy"), Jada Pinkett Smith ("Hawthorne," "Collateral") and Robin Lord Taylor ("The Walking Dead").
GOTHAM is based upon the characters from DC Comics and is produced by Warner Bros. Television. Executive producer Bruno Heller wrote the pilot, which was directed and executive-produced by Emmy Award nominee Danny Cannon (the "CSI" franchise, "Nikita"). John Stephens serves as an executive producer on the series.
