Idina recently sat down with MTV News for a new interview about Glee and Wicked.
Idina Menzel first made a name for herself on Broadway in smash hit musical
RENT in 1996 as spunky bisexual performance artist Maureen, a role that earned her a Best Featured Actress Tony nomination. She has also starred in
Andrew Lippa's 2002 production of
The Wild Party,
Elton John's
Aida,
Michael John LaChiusa's
See What I Wanna See, and most notably as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West in Broadway juggernaut
Wicked, the role that earned her the Best Actress Tony in 2004. She has also appeared on the silver screen in Disney's
Enchanted and the film adaptation of
RENT. Currently, she's guest starring in multiple episodes of Fox's hugely popular series
Glee. She is also a Warner Bros. recording artist, and her solo album
I Stand, as well as a 6-track EP that features studio and live tracks, are currently on sale via iTunes.
