As of Thursday, March 16th, the Off-Broadway theater complex known as Dodger Stages is under Stage Entertainment International ownership. This Joop van den Ende enterprise will henceforth be known as New World Stages. Beverley D. Mac Keen will serve as Executive Director.

Joop van den Ende said: "As an international leader in live entertainment, Stage Entertainment aspires to the highest level of quality in each of its productions and venues, but the company's relationship with the public has always been paramount. We live this, every day. Every theatergoer that visits a Stage Entertainment theater should feel that they are a welcome guest from the moment they cross the threshold."

Beverley D. Mac Keen added "We are looking forward to making New World Stages a primary destination, not only for world class entertainment on all of our stages, and indeed the entire facility, but by establishing the venue as an integral cultural center for this vibrant community. New World Stages is and will continue to be, much more than a theater center, but a thriving hub for a diversity of artists and audiences alike. We are excited to be in the position to also better serve our colleagues by providing opportunities for readings, workshops etc for projects still in the developmental stage."

Dodger Stages opened in the heart of the Broadway theater district in September 2004, following a multi-million dollar redesign and renovation, creating five new Off-Broadway theaters: two 499-seat venues, two 360-seat theaters, and one 199-seat theater, in addition to thousands of square feet dedicated to new state-of-the-art audience and artists services, including bars, an art gallery, numerous customer restrooms, and the latest in backstage and technical facilities.

Current shows playing there include Altar Boyz, Drumstruck, Sidd and the upcoming Burleigh Grimes. Future plans include the announcement of a late night performance series as well as performers in the newly renovated Downstairs lounge.
