DISASTER!, the 1970s disaster movie musical now playing Off-Broadway at the St. Luke's Theatre (308 W. 46th Street), has just announced that it will welcome new cast members in the coming weeks. Stacey Oristano from the acclaimed TV series "Bunheads" (Truly Stone) and "Friday Night Lights" (Mindy Riggins) will join the cast on January 13th, taking over the role of lounge singer "Jackie" (replacing Mary Birdsong). Annie Golden, who plays Norma Romano (Litchfield Inmate #1460-2890) in the acclaimed series "Orange is the New Black," and seen on Broadway in Xanadu, The Full Monty, and On the Town, returns to the role of "Shirley" (having previously appeared in Disaster! during its run at The Triad in 2012) from January 20th - February 7th (replacing Mary Testa). On February 10th, award-winning comedian, writer and actress Judy Gold -- currently seen on the reality series "Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-off," and known for her acclaimed Off-Broadway shows The Judy Show - My Life as a Sitcom and 25 Questions for a Jewish Mother -- will take over the role of Shirley.

Presented by Mary J. Davis, Disaster! is written by Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick, directed by Mr. Plotnick, and has choreography by Denis Jones. A send-up of the 1970s disaster movie genre, Disaster! features some of the best songs of the 1970s, including "Hot Stuff," "Don't Bring Me Down," "I Am Woman," "Alone Again Naturally," "Signed Sealed Delivered," "Knock On Wood," "Daybreak" "Sky High," and more.

It's 1979 and New York City's hottest partiers are blowing out their feathered hair and putting on their best polyester threads and platform shoes to head to the grand opening of the Barracuda, Manhattan's first floating casino and discotheque. Little do they know that their night of boogie fever will turn into a . . . Disaster!

The cast of Disaster! also features Haven Burton (Shrek, Legally Blonde) as Marianne, Paul Castree (9 to 5, Young Frankenstein) as Tony, Charity Dawson as Lavora Verona, Matt Farcher as Chad, Tom Riis Farrell (Chicago, Coram Boy, Dirty Blonde) as Maury, Seth Rudetsky (The Ritz) as Professor Ted Scheider, Robb Sapp (Shrek, Wicked) as Scott, Jennifer Simard (Sister Act; Shrek; Spelling Bee; I Love You, You're Perfect . . . ) as Sister Mary Downy, and Jonah Verdon as Ben and Lisa. Playing multiples roles in the ensemble are Sherz Aletaha, Saum Eskandani, and Maggie McDowell. Kristy Cavanaugh, Drew Geraci (The Scarlet Pimpernel, A Chorus Line), and Ashanti J'Aria (Saturday Night Fever) are the company swings.

DISASTER! has set and lighting design by Josh Iacovelli, costume design by Brian Hemesath, and sound design by Brett Rothstein. Larry Pressgrove is the Music Director, and Steve Marzullo is the Music Supervisor. Drew Geraci is the associate director and associate choreographer. Jeff Davolt is the Production Stage Manager, and Tom Kosis is the ASM.

A previous version of Disaster! played weekly performances at The Triad Theater in NYC from January - March 2012. This production -- which opened on Monday November 4th, 2013 --marks Disaster!'s Off-Broadway premiere.
