Spring Awakening Launches Official Fan Club

The producers of the 2007 Tony Award winning Best Musical Spring Awakening have announced the launch of the Official Spring Awakening Fan Club. 

On the musical's official website, www.springawakening.com, fans of the show can now sign up for exclusive privileges and special backstage materials about everything and anything Spring Awakening.  Downloads, buddy icons, MySpace templates, and more are available - featuring limited edition photos of the Spring Awakening cast.

Cast profile features include special Q&A sessions, photo and text blog entries, and exclusive live chat events (to be conducted at a later date).

Cast interviews, including at launch date a special interview with 2007 Tony Award winner John Gallagher, Jr., will also be a part of the "Total Fan Experience" package.  Contests, cast question submissions, and special Fan Club-only events will also be available to members. 

Spring Awakening, with book and lyrics by Steven Sater and music by Duncan Sheik, opened on Broadway Sunday, December 10th at the Eugene O'Neill Theater (230 West 49th St.) following its world premiere at the Atlantic Theater Company.

The Tony Award-winning creative team includes director Michael Mayer and choreographer Bill T. Jones with costumes by Susan Hilferty, set design by Christine Jones,  lighting by Kevin Adams and sound by Brian Ronan.

Spring Awakening was the winner of eight 2007 Tony Awards:

 In addition to a US National Tour – slated for the fall of 2008 - Spring Awakening has garnered an international following. Currently in development are productions in the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Israel, Korea, and Australia.

The Spring Awakening Original Broadway Cast recording - released under the Decca Broadway label – has been ranked in the Top 5 of Billboard's Cast Album chart since its debut.
