This spring marks the 11thedition of the bi-annual, BC BEAT and the program grows from ten to eleven choreographers to include Lorin Latarro (Choreographer of WAITRESS), Darrell Grand Moultrie (Choreographer of WITNESS UGANDA, BEYONCE), Richard J. Hinds (Assoc. Choreographer COME FROM AWAY), Mary Ann Lamb & Lisa Gadja (TUCK EVERLASTING), Sarah O'Gleby (NBC Live Musicals), Adam Murray (London Assoc. Dir/Choreographer WICKED), Reed Luplau (FIDDLER ON THE ROOF), Grady McLeod Bowman (Assoc. Choreographer TOP HAT), David Norsworthy (Juilliard), Lauren Adams (Parsons Dance Project), and creative director and producer of BC BEAT, Jennifer Jancuska. The program of new work will be performed by a company of more than 25 dancers, singers and actors, including Ida Saki, Austin Goodwin, Alex Cottone, Jacob Guzman, Brandt Martinez, Ricky Ubeda, Taner Van Kuren, Ingrid Kapteyn, Chavon Hampton, Marjorie Failoni, Khori Petinaud, Morgan Rose, Sade Simmons, Kirstin Tucker, Brandon Leffler, Roddy Kennedy, Ali Marconi, Melissa Hirsch, Eddy Lee, Shawn Fisher and includes collaborations with Adam Gwon, Scott Wasserman and more.
ABOUT THE EVENT
BC BEAT returns to Cielo (18 Little West 12th Street) on Monday May 9, 2016. Doors open at 7pm. Online tickets ($12) are now available through Brown Paper Tickets. Tickets at the door ($15 cash only) are not guaranteed. BC Beat is a 21 and over event. Expect to enjoy a drink from the full service bar, connect with choreographers and enjoy the dance floor before choreographers are introduced at 7:40pm to kick off the performances. For those who attend and contribute to BC Beat, the evening is as much about conversation as it is dance, performance and party.
