Spotlight Repertory Theatre's Inaugural Production Will Take You On A 'Folk Rock Road Trip'

"Folk Rock Road Trip," an original revue by Staten-Island based Spotlight Repertory Theatre, is set to etch a milestone as the company's inaugural production. And, according to the show's creators, "You are guaranteed to sing along."

The production, featuring a blend of seasoned professionals and top local performers, will take place June 28, 29 and 30 with a 7:30 p.m. curtain time at Amendment 18 Bar & Grill, 691 Bay St., in the Staten Island community of Stapleton.

Under the musical directorship of Broadway veteran Phil Hall, the revue embraces fresh renditions of '70s Folk, Pop and Rock songs, celebrating such iconic artists as Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Carole King, Simon and Garfunkel, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Billy Joel, The Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Carly Simon, and others.

Cast members include Staten Islander Mary Lee Marson Aloia, a professional actor and singer, and co-founder of Spotlight Repertory Theatre; the revue's director and designer John (Jacques) Stewart, a professional performer and co-founder of Spotlight Productions; Broadway veteran Jennifer Neuland Gerlach; professional actor and singer Mark Bradley Miller; professional performer and Staten Islander Nicole Williams; rising musical theater personality and Staten Islander Kaelen O'Donnell; stage veteran Max Joseph, and professional stage actor Robert Koutras.

Adding to the talented mix are: Artistic collaborator Steve Witting, stage manager Brendan O'Brien, and a group of Staten Island-based musicians, including percussionist Bill Harding, guitarist Tom Michetti; bassist Catherine Michetti, and keyboardist Tina Kenny Jones.

General admission is $25 (ticket price only); no cover charge; table seating; first come, first served.

Opening night "Folk Rock Road Trip" audience members are encouraged to assist Project Hospitality by contributing toward the purchase of gas cards to fuel vehicles used by the organization in its mission of helping Staten Islanders who are hungry, homeless or otherwise in need.
