CAMBODIAN ROCK BAND, now playing in Minneapolis through July 31!
A Cambodian homecoming, dark secrets, and psychedelic rock
You only have two weeks to see Cambodian Rock Band, co-produced by the Jungle Theater and Theater Mu.
In Lauren Yee's thrilling play with music, Chum returns to Cambodia for the first time since fleeing the Khmer Rouge 30 years earlier. The reason? His daughter is preparing to prosecute one of the political party's most notorious war criminals.
With a cast including Broadway's Greg Watanabe, Twin Cities favorite Eric Sharp, and local music legend Mayda Miller, the play toggles back and forth in time as Chum must confront his past, all to the live soundtrack of psychedelic rock and Cambodian oldies.
