The sold-out five week run of the national tour of Monty Python's Spamalot has shattered box office records at Washington D.C.'s National Theatre.
"Every week since beginning the run on Tuesday, June 6, Spamalot has beat the record set by the touring production of
Les Miserables when it grossed $960,842 at
The National Theatre. During the show's five-week run,
Spamalot has beaten its own record at
The National Theatre four times.
For its final week at
The National Theatre (week ending July 9),
Spamalot grossed $1,138,472.
The tour will next play a nine-week run at Toronto's Canon Theatre starting July 12. Following Toronto, Spamalot will begin performances at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera starting September 12.
Following the success in Washington DC, the production has already announced it will play a return engagement to Washington, DC, December 11, 2007 to January 6, 2008.

Sold-out since it opened on March 17, 2005,
Spamalot has continued to break box office records at The Shubert Theatre.
