Theatre Development Fund (TDF) announced that it will reopen its South Street Seaport TKTS Discount Booth at a temporary location at the corner of Fulton and South Streets today, July 5 at 11am while its permanent home in the Seaport Marketplace at the corner of Front and John Streets is being renovated. This temporary location, in a pop-up retail container, is part of the Seaport's SEE/CHANGE Summer Program which is offering retail, dining and cultural offerings in an effort to help revitalize the local community. TKTS Seaport has been closed since it was damaged by the Hurricane Sandy last October.

"We're thrilled to again serve theatregoers living and working in Downtown Manhattan," said TDF's Managing Director Michael Naumann. "We felt that we owed it to the community to be back for them this summer. The rebuilding of our permanent location was taking longer than we had hoped - so this temporary booth, just steps away at Fulton and South Streets, was the perfect solution."

TKTS Downtown Manhattan offers same-day tickets for evening performances and next- day tickets for matinee performances of Broadway and Off Broadway shows at up to 50% off full price. Operating hours for TKTS Seaport @ Fulton and South Street are:

Monday - Saturday - 11am to 6pm and Sunday from 11am to 4pm

You can see in advance what shows are up for sale at TKTS by downloading the free TKTS app at: www.tdf.org/tktsapp or you can see it online at www.tdf.org/tktslive.

Theatre Development operates 2 other TKTS Booths - the main TKTS Booth which just celebrated 40 years in Times Square on June 25 - and a satellite TKTS Booth in Downtown Brooklyn in 1 MetroTech Center.

Theatre Development Fund, a not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts, was created in the conviction that the live theatrical arts afford a unique expression of the human condition that must be sustained and nurtured. It is dedicated to developing diverse audiences for live theatre and dance, and strengthening the performing arts community in New York City. Since 1968, TDF's programs have provided over 85 million people with access to performances at affordable prices and have returned over $2.2 billion to thousands of productions. Best known for its TKTS Discount Booths, TDF's membership, outreach, access (including its newly formed Autism Theatre Initiative) and education programs - as well as its Costume Collection - have introduced thousands of people to the theatre and helped make the unique experience of theatre available to everyone, including students and people with disabilities. Recent TDF honors include a 2011 Mayor's Award for Arts and Culture, a 2012 Tony Honor for Excellence for its Open Doors Arts Education Program, a 2012 New York Innovative Theatre Award for its support of the off-Off Broadway community and a 2013 Lucille Lortel honor for "Outstanding Body of Work" in support of the Off Broadway community.
