The South Street Seaport Museum and Bowne & Co. are offering Bowne & Co Holiday Gift Cards for the 2019 holiday season. Gift cards can be purchased at Bowne Printers (209 Water Street, NYC) from 11am-7pm, Tuesday-Sunday.

Bowne & Co. gift cards for are good for retail purchases and custom job printing, and can be purchased in set amounts of $25, $50, $100 and more. Send a gift of any amount to the fine paper lover in your life. They can be redeemed for retail purchases and custom job printing at both Bowne & Co. Locations, 209-211 Water Street.

ABOUT BOWNE & CO., STATIONERS

Carrying on the age-old tradition of job printing (small batch printing), South Street Seaport Museum is home to Bowne & Co., Stationers, New York's oldest operating business under the same name. Bowne & Co. was established by Robert Bowne in 1775, and grew as a financial printer throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. In 1975, Bowne & Co. Inc. partnered with the Seaport Museum to open a 19th-century-style print shop at 211 Water Street in the South Street Seaport Historic District.

In its current incarnation, Bowne & Co., Stationers enchants visitors by enabling them to experience the traditional craft of 19th-century letterpress printing in a charmingly atmospheric shop. See the 19th-century printing presses from our collection, buy exquisite cards hand-printed in the shop, and chat with artist and master printer Robert Warner about his techniques. Bowne & Co. presents visitors with the unique opportunity to step into another era.

ABOUT BOWNE PRINTERS

Bowne Printers is a recent expansion of Bowne & Co. Stationers that continues the age old tradition of job (or small batch) printing. Using seven historic presses from South Street Seaport Museum's working collection; our resident printers create individual designs using custom plates or historic fonts. Visitors are invited to watch and discuss the history and contemporary relevance of letterpress printing, buy hand-crafted items and place custom orders for social stationery, business cards and invitations.

ABOUT SOUTH STREET SEAPORT MUSEUM

The South Street Seaport Museum, located in the heart of the historic seaport district in New York City, preserves and interprets the history of New York as a great port city. Founded in 1967, and designated by Congress as America's National Maritime Museum, the Museum houses an extensive collection of works of art and artifacts, a maritime reference library, exhibition galleries and education spaces, working nineteenth century print shops, and an active fleet of historic vessels that all work to tell the story of "Where New York Begins."
