Sotheby's Presents 'American: Now and Here' Benefit Auction, 6/23

Sotheby's New York presents an auction to benefit "America: Now and Here" on June 23rd at their space at 1334 York Avenue. The hosts of the evening will be artists April Gornik and Eric Fischl.

Cocktails and the silent auction begin at 6 p.m. ad the live auction, conducted by Jamie Niven, Chair of Sotheby's North & South America, begin at 7 p.m. There will be a special reading of "Crossing State Lines: An American Renga" as well. The auction include art from Ross Bleckner, Sally Gall, Brian Hunt, Robert Longo, Martin Mull, Kiki Smith, and many more. There are luxury experiences also for auction, including a private tennis lesson with John McEnroe and a one week stay in a villa in Montego Bay Jamaica.

"America: Now and Here" is a cross-country journey of art and ideas led by Eric Fischl and more than 150 of our most celebrated visual artists, musicians, poets, playwrights, and filmmakers. Our mission is to ignite creativity, to launch thoughtful dialogue, and to inspire a bold vision for our shared future. This exciting event celebrates the official launch of the project. Funds raised will support the traveling exhibition, an interactive website, publications, media, and youth and community programs that will bring "America: Now and Here" to communities large and small across the nation.
