As first reported on TVGuide.com, two characters from HBO's long-running series 'The Soprano's will be reuniting for an upcoming episode of Showtime's NURSE JACKIE. Aida Turturro and Edie Falco, who played in-laws Janice and Carmela on the HBO show, will be appearing together in a spring episode of Falco's new comedy show on Showtime.
Turturro will portray an attorney named 'Laurel'. Commenting on her upcoming role the actress said, "She's tough and says what she's thinking, but she's not a psychopath like Janice. We have a little meeting. I'm trying to help Jackie out with something, but we'll see if she trusts me enough to take my advice."
Falco confessed that reteaming with Turturro stirred up fond memories of her former series. "I have to say, the first few times we were running lines, I asked myself, 'Who am I if I'm talking to that face?' Aida and I spent a lot of years together as these two other people."
The 'Nurse Jackie' star is hoping that another former 'Soprano's cast member, James Gandolfini will find the time to guest star on her new show as well. Falco tells TV Guide, "I've always had this fantasy of having Jim, as Tony, pulled in on a stretcher in the background, so we'd know he did, in fact, get shot in the restaurant in the finale and ended up at All Saints Hospital. People would finally have an answer as to what the hell happened after the screen went black."
