Sonorous Road Theatre & Film Studio presents an immersive holiday production with their 2nd annual original adaptation of the classic short story, "The Gift of the Magi" by O. Henry. Performances will be at Sonorous Road, 3801 Hillsborough St, Suite 113, Raleigh, NC, December 6-17.
The timeless classic "The Gift of the Magi" tells the tale of newlywed couple Jim and Della Young and their search for Christmas gifts for each other. The short story was originally published in 1905 and has been re-told in movie and TV adaptions numerous times over the years. Sonorous Road's re-telling of "The Gift of the Magi" will be an original, immersive theatre production set in 1920s New York. The production will feature interactive elements and live music.
"The Gift of the Magi is such a moving and beautiful story about sacrifice and what's important to us. I'm really excited about once again expanding on the original short story for our production and bringing in immersive elements to draw the audience into the story and the characters" says Michelle Murray Wells, Owner & Artistic Director of Sonorous Road.
The show is written by Wells and other members of the creative team at Sonorous Road. It is being directed by regional actor & director David Sebren and features Wells as DELLA and local actor Jonathan King as JIM. "Gift of the Magi" general admission ticket prices are $25; (all fees and taxes included). Due to the immersive nature of the show only 20 seats per performance time will be available. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.sonorousroad.com/magi.
