Sonnet Repertory Theatre presents their Twelfth Annual Benefit and Cabaret on Sunday, November 23, at Joe's Pub to honor award-winning actress, CELIA WESTON.
Weston is a proponent of Sonnet Rep's mission: classic theatre for the modern planet. All proceeds from the event will go towards
Sonnet Repertory Theatre's 2015 key initiatives, including producing exciting, accessible classic theater, and enriching educational initiatives, designed to nurture arts and classical language appreciation among New York City's school children. As a non-profit organization, SRT seeks to promote classic theatre to a contemporary audience by producing insightful and relevant interpretations, while also providing diverse and challenging creative opportunities.
Individual tickets begin at $75, $125, and $200 for VIP tickets. All tickets include complimentary beer, wine, and SRT's signature cocktail. About the Honoree:
Celia Weston
CELIA WESTON first came to prominence portraying Jolene Hunnicutt on the long running CBS television series "Alice," and can currently be seen as Barb Tucker, Cam Tucker's mom on the hit ABC sitcom "Modern Family," and in the FX series "American Horror Story: Freak Show." Her film work includes roles in such critically acclaimed films as Dead Man Walking, In The Bedroom, Snow Falling on Cedars, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Far From Heaven, Unstrung Heroes, Igby Goes Down, The Village, Junebug, and such comedies as Flirting with Disaster, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, andObserve and Report. Celia made her Broadway debut in Loose Ends with
Kevin Kline. Other Broadway work includes: The Lady From Dubuque, Garden District, Summer and Smoke, True West, and The Last Night of Ballyhoo. She won the Outer Critics Circle Award and was nominated for a Tony and Drama Desk Award for a Featured Actress in The Last Night of Ballyhoo.
The Evening's Host:
John Behlmann
JOHN BEHLMANN will host the evening. Behlmann just returned from playing Ebby Calvin 'Nuke' LaLoosh in the world premiere of the new Broadway-aimed musical Bull Durham. He starred in the Tony-winning production of The 39 Steps, and made his Broadway debut in the Tony-winning revival of Journey's End. Film includes Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street,
Sam Mendes' Revolutionary Road, among others. Television includes "Blue Bloods," and "The Good Wife." John is also a national commercial spokesperson, an occasional rapper, and a trapeze artist and Artistic Director of aerial theater company Fight or Flight.

RICK HIP FLORES was recently the keyboardist and assistant conductor of Rocky. He has performed in the Broadway orchestras of Beautiful,
Billy Elliot, Into the Woods, and many others. As musical director and conductor: We Will Rock You (First National), High School Musical (MUNY), Singin' in the Rain (North Shore Music Theatre),
Jacques Brel (
Zipper Theatre), Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival and numerous productions for Musicals Tonight. As composer/lyricist, published works include Neon Mirage (Humana Festival, 2006), My New York, A Tooth Fairy Tale, and Peace Love and Cupcakes(Vital Theater).
