Valentine's Day will be an especially lovely and engrossing one for Broadway babies since Stephen Sondheim will be participating in a livestream conversation on WQXR's The Greene Space to discuss the new Classic Stage Company's production of his 1994 Tony Award-winning romantic musical PASSION.
The Elliott Forrest-hosted chat will also feature live performances of songs from the show by the Off Broadway revival's lead actors, Ryan Silverman, Melissa Errico and Judy Kuhn. Additionally, Forrest will discuss the show's themes and this production's concept with director John Doyle, in addition to a conversation with composer/lyricist Sondheim.
PASSION centers on the tragic love triangle of Giorgio, a handsome Italian officer, his married paramour, Clara, and the terminally ill, tortured sister of his commanding officer who teaches him how to love, Fosca.
PASSION runs now through April 7 at at the Classic Stage Company.
More information on the livestream beginning on Thursday at 12 PM is available here.
