Something New: The Concert Set for Stage 72, 5/20

Award-winning composer/lyricist Joel B. New will presents an evening of original songs from the first season of his hit iTunes Podcast, "Something New," at Stage 72 on Monday, May 20th at 7pm. All proceeds will benefit the Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization. (www.hrc.org)

Something New: The Concert draws from several of New's musical Theatre Projects, including Mackenzie and the Missing Boy, To Hell and Back, Standalone, In Others' Words, Diary of a Nobody, and RSVP.

Produced by Ulmer Theatricals and directed by Lori Steinberg, the cast consists of past and future guest artists on New's podcast. Vocalists include Liz Asti, Edmund Bagnell, Greg Etling, Scott Guthrie, Leslie Henstock, Stephanie Joiner, Melanie Kann, Charlie Levy, Roy Lightner, Melissa McKamie, Jenny Neale, Christine Paterson, Jacob Schneider, Nathan Siler, Stephanie Sine, David Alan Thornton, Liz Ulmer, Lindsie Vanwinkle and Chris York.

The band will consist of Dan Radzikowski (piano), Edmund Bagnell (violin), Nathan Siler (guitar), Joel B. New (guitar) and Jessica Winderweedle (percussion).

Joel B. New is the proud recipient of the American Theatre Wing Jonathan Larson Grant, an NYU-Tisch Alumni Grant (made possible by the Frederick Loewe Foundation), and a Margo Lion Award, and has been praised as one of today's "most exciting contemporary musical theatre writers" (BroadwayWorld.com)

The Human Rights Campaign is America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against LGBT citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.

Tickets are $15.00, and a 2-drink minimum (cash only) is required.
