Classic Stage Company has added one final performance of their sold-out production of Dead Poets Society, starring Jason Sudeikis as John Keating, on Sunday evening, December 18 at 7 pm. The final added performance will benefit CSC's educational programs, including The Young Company, now in its 12th season.

Written by Academy Award winner Tom Schulman, adapted from his screenplay, and directed by John Doyle, Dead Poets Society is set at a rigorous all-boys preparatory school renowned for its ancient traditions, where the unconventional Professor Keating inspires his students to defy conformity, and to live passionately.

The cast of Dead Poets Society also includes Francesca Carpanini, David Garrison, William Hochman, Cody Kostro, Yaron Lotan, Thomas Mann, Zane Pais, Stephen Barker Turner and Bubba Weiler. Scenic design is by Scott Pask, costume design by Ann Hould-Ward, lighting design by Japhy Weideman and sound design by Matt Stine.

All seats for the benefit performance will be $250. For tickets, visit classicstage.org, call (212) 352-3101 or (866) 811-4111, or in person at the box office (136 East 13th Street).

Classic Stage Company serves roughly 4,000 middle and high school students each year through current CSC Education programs and supporting activities. CSC's goals for educational programming tie directly to our overall mission by presenting classic stories to New York City's underserved student population. By bringing teens from the classroom to a theater setting, our artists reduce barriers to the complex Shakespearean work while introducing the tenets of classical theater. Exposure to these texts in this manner not only initiates strong relationships with first-time theatergoers, but also provides a unique educational experience for students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to engage meaningfully with this work.

Now in its 49th Season, CSC is committed to re-imagining classic stories for contemporary audiences. The company has been a home for New York's finest established and emerging artists to grapple with the great works of the world's repertory that speak directly to the issues of today. CSC serves an average of 35,000 audience members annually, including more than 4,000 students through its nationally recognized education programs. Productions have been cited repeatedly by all the major Off-Broadway theater awards including the Obie, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Drama League, and the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Body of Work.
