Due to one of the heaviest snowfalls in New York City's history, three tennis bubbles collapsed from the weight of accumulated snow buildup.  Two of the bubbles, located at the Prospect Park Tennis Center, collapsed at approximately 4:00 a.m. on Monday morning.

The other bubble, located at Sportime on Randall's Island, collapsed later the same day.   There were no injuries.  Two other bubbles at Randall's Island were not affected.  Staff at each facility is now in the process of removing the snow and repairing the damage.  The damaged bubbles are anticipated to re-open early next week, if not sooner.

In response to the severity of the weight of snow from the blizzard, all tennis bubbles located on Parks property (Mill Pond Park, Cunningham Park, Bensonhurst Park, Alley Pond Park and Queensboro Oval) were inspected and found to be in good condition.
