Over the weekend, two dozen thrill-seekers got more than they bargained for at Six Flags. Twenty four guests were trapped for five hours at 75 feet above the ground on the Joker's Jinx roller coaster in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, according to ABC News. Though all of the guests made it to solid ground physically unscathed, the situation got us thinking about all of the fun to be had at the great theme parks of the world- but at ground level.

Finding Nemo- The Musical
Where: Disney's Animal Kingdom; Orlando, FL
About the Show: Dive right into the heart, humor and characters of Finding Nemo with this musical version of the award-winning Disney•Pixar film. In this 40-minute show, original songs bring the big, blue world to life, along with extraordinary puppets and vibrant sets that plunge you right into the depths of Nemo's fin-tastic terrain. Performed on a stage flanked by big bubbles, the musical numbers shimmer with wondrous underwater effects created with innovative lighting, dynamic props and animated projections. There are 14 original songs composed by Frozen's Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. This is the first time that Disney has taken a non-musical animated feature and transformed it into an original musical production.

The Singing Sorceress: Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees
Where: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley at Universal Studios; Orlando, FL
About the Show: The Singing Sorceress: Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees, a musical performance featuring the ever-popular singing sensation of the wizarding world, known from the books as Molly Weasley's favorite singer, who she listens to on the Wizarding Wireless Network. The swinging show features never-before heard songs including, "A Cauldron Full Of Hot, Strong Love," "You Stole My Cauldron But You Can't Have My Heart" and "You Charmed The Heart Right Out Of Me". These titles were all created by J.K. Rowling and the lyrics also include never-before-revealed information on Celestina's wand from Pottermore. The songs were written, and the show was crafted by none other than Broadway's own Alan Zachary & Michael Weiner (of FIRST DATE and SECONDHAND LIONS fame).

Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage

Performed in the 1,500-seat Theater of the Stars along Sunset Boulevard, this attraction premiered on November 22, 1991-the same day that the animated feature filmBeauty and the Beast opened in theaters across the U.S. This was the first time that a stage show opened the same day as the movie that inspired it.
