Singer/Songwriter Brandi Carlile will join Michigan Theatre audiences for a live performance to celebrate her new album, "Give Up the Ghost," tonight, Septempber 28 at 7:30pm.

A gifted singer/songwriter whose rich voice and literate storytelling belie her youth (she was only 23 when she released her major-label debut), Carlile picked up the guitar at age 17. Her emotionally powerful songwriting and acoustic guitar work are the dominant components of her sound. Her 2005 self-titled album earned enthusiastic reviews, and Carlile was named one of 2005's "Artists to Watch" by Rolling Stone. Carlile's latest, "The Story," was released in 2007.
