Silk Stockings, the overlooked Cole Porter musical that will be presented at Florence Gould Hall in the French Institute Alliance Française (55 East 59th Street between Park and Madison Ave.) will be featured on XM 28 On Broadway Radio's Broadway and Beyond on August 29th.

The Silk Stockings concert will be presented at 6:30 PM for four performances only--on Sunday, September 11th, Monday, September 19th, Monday, September 26th and Monday, October 3rd.

Based on the classic Billy Wilder film Ninotchka, Silk Stockings will star Valerie Cutko (Chicago in London, Nine and Fanny at Paper Mill Playhouse) in the title role of the Communist cutie whose icy heart thaws when she falls in love an American whose principles couldn't be more different from her own. The show will also feature Daniel Gerroll (Plenty, Enchanted April) as Steve Canfield, Wally Dunn (Gypsy, One Mo' Time) as Brankov and Liz Larsen (The Most Happy Fella, Damn Yankees) as Janice Dayton, as well as Robert Ari, Meghann Babo, Ryan Brunton, Sarahjean Davenport, Ray Demattis, Philip Deyesso, Bill Galarno, Bryan Kenneth, Jean McCormick, Ann Rothenberg, Jeffery Stern and Peter Van Wagner.

Directed by Ian Marshall Fisher, Silk Stockings will feature musical direction by Lawrence Yurman and choreography by Donald Sadler. With music and lyrics by Cole Porter, and a book by George S. Kaufman, Leueen MacGrath and Abe Burrows, the show was a hit on Broadway in 1955 with Don Ameche and Hildegarde Neff, running a total of 478 performances. It later became a film starring Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse. Silk Stockings has not been seen on the stage since it debuted on Broadway. Satirizing both Hollywood and Communism, the show features such Porter classics as "All of You," "Paris Loves Lovers" and "Stereophonic Sound."
