Signature Theatre has announced casting for several roles in its 25th Anniversary Season.
Wesley Taylor will take on the iconic role of The Emcee in Signature Theatre's revival of Cabaret (April 14 - June 28, 2015). Taylor originated the roles of Franz in Rock of Ages and Lucas Beineke in The Addams Family on Broadway. He was featured on the NBC series Smash and is also the co-creator and star of the original Hulu comedy series "It Could Be Worse."
Charlie Pollock (Broadway's Violet) and Mary Kate Morrissey (Hair International Tour) will star as Elmer Gantry and Sharon Falconer in Signature's re-imagining of the musical version of Sinclair Lewis' best-selling novel Elmer Gantry (October 7 - November 9, 2014). Nova Y. Payton (Signature's Dreamgirls) will join the cast in the role of Mary Washington.
Natascia Diaz will be featured as Adrienne in Nick Blaemire's world premiere musical Soon (March 10 - April 26, 2015). Natascia returns to Signature Theatre after her critically acclaimed performance in The Threepenny Opera.
The 2014-2015 season will also feature two more world premiere musicals, including the Sheryl Crow and Barry Levinson penned musical adaptation of the 1982 movie Diner (December 9, 2014 - January 25, 2015) and John Kander and Greg Pierce's new collaboration Kid Victory (February 17 - March 22, 2015). Signature will present the DC premiere of Laura Eason's Sex with Strangers (October 14 - December 7, 2014) and the world premiere event Simply Sondheim (April 2-19, 2015), honoring Signature's long partnership with Stephen Sondheim. Signature Theatre kicks off its 25th Anniversary season August 5 with Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Sunday in the Park with George (August 5 - September 21, 2014).
