Broadway welcomes back a favorite leading lady in a rockin' new role!

Broadway headliner and internationally celebrated performer Sierra Boggess returns to Broadway following her recent role in IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU with the premiere mainstage production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's screen-to-stage adaptation of School of Rock and she discusses her participation in the show as part of a new interview.

Boggess says of re-teaming with Lloyd Webber, with whom she has collaborated on numerous properties including THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and LOVE NEVER DIES, "We have a great relationship - very collaborative and trusting of each other. I'm so excited to bring that character to life. He's done so much work on it and everyone is so excited. I really think it's going to be awesome. I'm really looking forward to working with all the kids and Alex Brightman, who is playing the Jack Black character, is so awesome - I'm thrilled for him, he's finally getting his big break. It's going to be such an awesome experience."

Furthermore, Boggess shares of the unique role of a buttoned-up principal who learns to let loose and how it differs from her other work, dramatically and vocally, "Yes - it's very different. You're just going to have to wait and hear it - it's pretty awesome."

The official description of School of Rock is as follows: "SCHOOL OF ROCK is a brand new musical based on the famous Paramount film written by Mike White, which starred Jack Black.

The musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. Completely disinterested in academic work, Dewey decides to create his own curriculum, turning his class into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band.

The stage musical is produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber, who has composed 14 new songs to create a score, which also features all the original songs from the movie. SCHOOL OF ROCK, with its sensational live kids' rock band, is a loving testimony to the transforming power of music.

May the spirit of rock be with you!"

Of note, previews begin November 9 with the opening night set for December 6.
