Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) are pleased to announce that Sierra Boggess, who last week received an Olivier nomination, will appear opposite Tony and Emmy Award winner Tyne Daly in Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming Broadway production of MASTER CLASS by Terrence McNally, directed by Stephen Wadsworth.

Boggess is currently starring as ‘Christine Daae' in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Love Never Dies in London, for which she recently received an Olivier Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical. She most recently appeared on Broadway in The Little Mermaid for which she received Drama Desk and Drama League nominations. In MASTER CLASS, Boggess will play Sharon, a singer in Maria Callas' (Daly) Julliard master class.

The limited engagement of MASTER CLASS will play MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street) with previews starting Tuesday, May 24 with an opening night set for Tuesday, June 21. This production, which is offered as part of MTC's 2010-2011 subscription series, will be the first show to open as part of the 2011-2012 Broadway season.

Terrence McNally's award-winning play about Maria Callas takes us to one of her famous master classes where, late in her own career, she challenges the next generation to make the same sacrifices and dare to rise to the same heights she did, making her the most celebrated, the most reviled and the most controversial singer of her times.

The creative team for MASTER CLASS includes Thomas Lynch (scenic design), Martin Pakledinaz (costume design), David Lander (lighting design), and Jon Gottlieb (sound design).

Additional casting and other listings information will be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets for MASTER CLASS are available by calling Telecharge at 212-239-6200, online by visiting www.Telecharge.com, or by visiting the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre Box Office (261 West 47th Street). Ticket prices are $57 - $121.
